Important Changes in Dormant Accounts
Recent changes to Pennsylvania's Unclaimed Property Act have reduced the dormancy time period from five (5) years to three (3) years. As a result, the Credit Union is required to escheat, or hand over, the funds in an account that has had no transactional activity for a period of three (3) consecutive years. PALCO FCU will make several attempts to notify you, our member, of the inactive status on the account before the funds are escheated to the State. If you receive a notice of inactivity, we encourage you to consider making a deposit or withdrawal to reactive the account as soon as you are able. You may also provide the Credit Union with a written, electronic, or verbal contact or communication that indicates your interest in the account. PALCO FCU offers a variety of financial products and services at competitive rates. For a complete list, check our rates online, or contact one of our Member Services Representatives. For more information about the Unclaimed Property Act, please visit www.patreasury.gov.
